as still as bears

as still as bears in winter… i don’t want
to disturb or keep you from flight;
parting is inevitable, so i refrain
from your touch, from worthy kisses whose
power to unlock such kind memories, gently,
cajoles me from this self-imposed oblivion
where i bear the weight of you… i try to
forget you at the same time so you cannot
stay and leave me with a trail of fingerprints
that suggest i follow when all i really want is
for us to hibernate forever in this cave
