Sometimes, there isn’t a way to let go or distance one’s self from the object of affection. They are simply there and forcing it to go away would be unnatural. However we try to shed it off our system, it springs back up, returns just as quickly and even closer and more present in our thoughts. We make more of a mess out of it trying to chase it off when there is time. Time for us to use it to inspire us either to write, paint, create or to say goodbye when the time comes. Love is often headstrong and letting go means working with time.

you’re in my mind
but lesson played
I should not like for you
to hear or see
what little tremor I feel
how swollen my heart
the heaviness unmistakenly
caused by you–
so close am I to holding
sunrise within a glimpse
(of you) so close am I
to touching God
in every thought
that is you
