your smile, a panacea
for this deepest melancholy
every time reeling me out
of this well of darkness

What matters is love. It is all around us, in the infinitely small atom down to the infinitely small gesture. A smile, a handshake, the sound of a genuinely welcoming “hello” from a colleague. Listen for it, though it can be tricky. Amazing, though, what love is when you recognize it, when it is revealed before you in some spectacularly unfortunate way that you read into its language meant solely to be decoded by you. What unfolds, there lies your blessing. Love, naked and true. Vulnerable, unconditional, forgiving and inspiring at the same time. To find someone who shows this and not fall asleep during the talk or through the hackneyed lecture that no one seems to be paying attention to anymore; when no one seems to be embodying it in their lives because they are caught up in the escalation, forgetting what it means to be humble. And I believe this is essential to discovering love… humility of self and of heart.

there is a love untamed
here in the middle of this
slippery after first rain
where love want in
collision as if atoms
begging particles unite
to build a stronger religion
whose faith unwaver
