Hurt

It is strange that I would only come to a realization about this… the manifestation of how other people hurt. Some children have an easier way of expressing it. They cry when they hurt. Growing up, we learned to shed this habit, the expression of hurt. We don’t cry anymore or tell an adult. We sometimes tell our closest friends, but even some hurt remain unsaid and these are the ones that just creep into the system and manifest through body language. The untold hurt, people carry it around so well that they don’t even recognize it in themselves. And when we do recognize it in them, showing us how they have been hurt, we have to learn to love and let go. Keep that mind strong for our bodies because our emotions can get so out of hand that it is important to catch ourselves at that moment and center ourselves. Center us to where we originally belong to and that is love.

love’s all I got
take it or leave it
spin it into
a beautiful lie,
whatever it takes
to make you cry
let go of the silence
whose intentions solely
to begrudge (me)
without a wish
to bid
a good life–
Cry already if need be
so you can say goodbye
